Located along the southern coast of Malta, Birzebbugia is a small resort yet still offers some hotels and many bars & restaurants. It has a long seafront with a lovely, small sandy beach, named Pretty Bay, and beautifully clear blue sea, an ideal spot for sunbathing & swimming. Shops are also present along the parade as well as a children’s play area right by the beach. Buses run regularly to connect you with Valletta. Marsaxlokk, just along the coast slightly, is Malta’s quaint fishing village. Its main attractions are its beautiful bay full of colourful boats, (called Luzzu’s & pictured in ‘many a Malta guide’) its array of seafront restaurants and its Sunday market held right by the water’s edge. The market has many varied stalls & freshly caught fish is abundant. Marsaxlokk is very picturesque and a popular choice to visit while on holiday in Malta.
