MALTA IN BRIEF
Located in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea between Sicily & North Africa, Malta has a generally warm climate all year round in comparison with the majority of Europe. It is renowned for its long hot summers, friendly people & crystal clear blue sea and boasts over 7000 years of fascinating history. The Maltese Islands consist of Malta, Gozo & the very small island of Comino & can be reached from many of the main airports across the European region as well as by ferry from nearby Sicily. A number of cruise ships also visit Malta’s Grand Harbour in the capital city of Valletta, particularly during the summer months. Malta is a member of the European Union with the ‘Euro’ as its currency & there are 2 official languages here, Maltese & English. As a popular holiday destination for a short break, a summer holiday or a sightseeing expedition ‘through the ages’, the Maltese Islands have something for everyone. (Even beaches!!)
